DISCLAIMER: I am the person that I am. That may or may not make you want to hire me. Let’s be real. I’ve been 8 religions in my life, now I’m a Born Again Christian. Why am I saying this right off the bat? Because I’ve been around the block. Despite what “professional” advice says, the very minute interviewers see I developed sites for multiple churches, built the Bible Study for Atheists site, and that I am pretty bold in what I believe, a lot of people are looking for a quiet way out.
I really DO play well with others (That’s largely what Bible Study For Atheists is for, check it out)! I’m friends with lots of people who believe different from me. But believe it or not, YES, I’ve had enough issues with my beliefs that I HAVE to say this stuff. I have to.
I’m giving you a quiet way out now. If you wouldn’t hire me because you don’t like Christians, or would find a way to nitpick me to death once I get there- just do us both a favor and don’t waste either of our time. We’ll never get it back! Seriously though.
I’m done with the times I’ve gotten hired onto something only to find out it was something that intentionally directly clashes with my beliefs (adult sites for example? No kidding it happened, I was a head developer in a board room meeting when it got brought up). Just be honest please! I can take it.
What does this have to do with my work? NOTHING, and that’s the whole point. This is about me, who I am as a person. What I LIKE to do, because the rest of the site is my work stuff.
I am a perpetual struggler with my self image- not that I hate the way I look. I just have fluctuated in my weight well over 100 pounds on either side.
